Taiho Shichau Zo was the breakthrough for young manga artist
Fujishima Kosuke several years ago, and it was (finally) turned into
an OAV series, which will run for four episodes according to the
plan. Among Western fans, it's known as You're under arrest!
(the official English title used on the LD cover) or I'll arrest
you!. The immense popularity of Fujishima's Aa! Megami-sama (which he created
after Taiho) probably played a part in the decision to animate
it.
So what is is about? It's about two cute police women - Tsujimoto Natsumi and Kobayakawa Miyuki - and their adventures in Tokyo city. And that's the basic premise of the whole thing - simple, yet appealing. You won't find any deep stories here, but instead good humour, likeable characters and cool action. And as if that wasn't enough, this anime is technically a great piece of work - it's beautiful to look at.
