Slam Dunk is a series by Takehiko Inoue. This story is about a
red-haired punk named Hanamichi Sukuragi, who was dumped by 50 girls,
and is reputed to have a very hard head (literally and figuratively).
On his first day of high school, he meets Haruko Akagi, who is the
sister of Takenori Akagi, the Captain of the Shouhoku High Basketball
Team. Hanamichi falls in love with her, and, to win her heart, joins
the basketball team. However, in spite of Hanamichi's hidden talents
for basketball, he endures hardship and competition by his rival Kaede
Rukawa, a basketball ace. Haruko has a crush for Rukawa, and Hanamichi
is determined to win her heart.
